Founded by 16-year-old Walker Yancey, Furcoats is a three-piece band that emphasizes the need for strangled rock n’ roll in Birmingham, Alabama. Walker’s proclivity for loud rock can only be matched by his ability to emulate enigmatic front men. Recordings will be available in Spring 2012.

Nightmare Boyzzz produce music that can simply be described as the best rock n’ roll currently being created in North Alabama – let the haters start hating. Located right outside of Muscle Shoals, these Boyzzz are keen on garage rock and power pop, mixed with reverb-drenched production. Nowhere Squares

Considered by many to be the godfathers of the Birmingham/Montevallo frenetic punk rock scene, the Nowhere Squares have been creating urgent rock tunes for well over a decade. At times explosive, at other times restrained, and, at other times, completely absorbed in nervous geek punk energy, the Squares’ songs are an onslaught of harmony driven bliss.

Their multi-year hiatus left many in Alabama depressed and hungry for music with a pulse (and emphatic keyboard drum fills). Thankfully, they are back to doing what they do best, playing music that sounds like the inside of a rock scientist’s garage.

Who needs descriptive text when you have an artist that creates music as unique as Drew Price’s Bermuda Triangle? One might be tempted to label DPBT as psyched-out, bedroom pop, but it’ll take far more words to really reflect what he’s doing. His current releases are available for FREE through his SoundCloud, so give them a listen. A 7-inch featuring four of his tracks will be available through Happenin Records in Spring 2012.
